BACKGROUND
The exhibited projects aim at creating an Aedes environment for communicating through working together, displaying, and interacting. The works of eight groups of students celebrate our rituals to gather and communicate while considering new formats. The projects pay tribute to the nature of the place and to the special atmosphere of the building complex in Pfefferberg. They value the tradition of Aedes as an established platform that makes both young and thriving architects visible. Through sensitivity towards the context and the integration of the place and its history into the contemporary response given, an interplay between analysis and practice can be observed.

Founded in 2014, Berlin International is the youngest and only school of architecture and design in Berlin running entirely in English. The programmes thrive on critical reflection, close supervision, and practical learning. For this project, 5th semester students from the Bachelor programmes in Architecture, Graphic Design and Visual Communication as well as Interior Architecture/Interior Design worked in interdisciplinary teams. The projects were supervised by Prof. Karsten Huneck, Prof. Alexander Tibus, Felix Ewers, Heike Brandt and supported by Prof. Yüksel Pögün-Zander, PhD.
